Calling Your Spirit Back - Caroline Myss | chakrabalancingproducts.com

Call Your Spirit Back

Woman, arms outstretched, happy

A happy human spirit!

I came across this video, by Caroline Myss PHD, it is an excerpt from a lecture given a while back.

The point she makes is interesting though and she tells a story of David and how he “called his spirit back”.

The reasoning behind this was, that in every stored memory and instance of holding onto lifes’ hurts and injustices we leave a little piece of our spirit energy there too – keeping hold of that pain. Add up those instances we all encounter over the average lifetime and you can imagine just how much energy is taken in storing those painful thoughts and memories. This is energy that is taken from the spirit within us now, wanting to live life and embrace the world we have here.

I found this good to watch as it is precisely the same kind of energy that I have seen and felt in people, (myself included) in my past life regression work. I specialised in Past Life Regression and much of the work involved in the deep process we do involves the energy of the spirit. And precisely as Caroline retells how David reviewed and revisited those memories of his current lifetime accounts for some of the remedial energy work done in this deep past life regression work. For when the truth is encountered rather than  beliefs or perceptions, then often a healing and a release of energy occurs. It can be very powerful and I personally always find it an absolute privilege sharing the energy of the spirit with people.

In a way this is a very deep kind of chakra balancing Рon a very profound spiritual level. It is not relevant for everyone and the process is so much more than visiting a previous life and deciding you were a butcher, an admiral or anybody famous! The beauty of the work is in the unraveling of the story,  the realisations and the truths revealed in the realm of the spirit.

    Thank you for this video. I just feel so stuck. I have been given so many powerful tools for healing but my life doesn’t reflect the power of my being, my heart. And I feel myself slipping in and out of consciousness. When I come to, those periods of numbness just feels so painfully obvious, such a waste of time. But I just feel debilitated to do anything about it. What am I still holding on to?

    Hi Joan. I’m not sure I am totally clear about your comment(2or3 lines is very limiting I know). To be slipping in and out of conscious – sounds like you are not in control of that – I would suggest you find a group/others to work with in energy terms. If you don’t have a therapist or group to talk with then writing can be a brilliant way to start uncovering how you really feel. If you are not sure where to start, start writing about people or events that upset you and allow yourself to write totally uninhibited. Have you read “You Can Heal Your Life” by Louise Hay – it can be a good place to start – it outlines some of the places we hold on to or block energy. Something that occurs to me as I’m writing this is: How do you feel inside if you look at a picture of yourself as a child? This can be very revealing. It can give indications of how loving or accepting you are of yourself. Usually this is something we don’t give a lo tof time or thought to. Hope this helps. Regards Davina

    First of all, thanks for this article. Reincarnation is such a beautiful thought to me and something I want to believe in and I’m interested in whether the mental anguish I feel sometimes (but don’t know why) is somehow tied to past life “baggage.”

    But more relevant to the video and your point, I imagine your spirit can be compared to a computer hard drive. No matter how much you think you’ve deleted files (or let go of things), there are still remnants of that info that will eventually weight you system (or spirit) down.

    Yes – that’s a good way of describing it. We can hardly go through life without experiencing hurt, pain grief etc but it’s when we hold on to it to such a degree that it clogs up our energy a little – that it can affect us. Our spirit, is a beautiful light energy but an ‘emotional overload’ can overshadow us sometimes. That can come in many forms – shame, guilt, pain, grief etc etc. That’s not to say – at all that we should try not to feel these things – we can hardly go through life without experiencing them – it’s when we hold on so tight or ‘stuff’ them down and ‘hold them inside’ that we can feel a little overwhelmed. When the time is right, and we feel able, to let go – even just a little at a time, we can rclaim some of our own beautiful and powerful energy.

    This is a very inspiring article. Is it possible that adults are carrying negative energy in the form or painful childhood events that weren’t necessarily bad things, just misunderstood? In other words, is energy inherently good or bad or is it our interpretation of it the makes it good or bad?

    @Kim, Hi Kim
    You are quite right, actually from what I have seen (and felt) it is more often than not from misunderstanding – just as it describes in the story on the video. When we work with energy – it doesn’t lie – it is what it is and when we unravel the threads that make up the story or events of our life in a place of safety and understanding then we see the truth and it becomes so much easier to let go and sometimes forgive.

  4. This is a very powerful message and touching story. I have learned a lot about myself and how to use healing energy. It is my belief that preconceptions and negativity really bind and trap the soul. All of those negative things that happen in life really suck energy away from the soul and can smother it. I think some people become consumed by negativity and become depressed, negative people because their soul is trapped. I wasn’t sure if I believed in past lives but recently this has been making sense. All energy is connected and can neither be created or destroyed after all. I think some people must have many life times of negative experiences, thoughts and pain. In order to heal, you must let go of the pain and hurt and turn those thoughts and feelings and memories into something positive to feed the soul instead of bury it, if that makes sense. Most of this is on the unconscious level which is why we have to work very hard to let it go and to be positive being and surround ourselves with positive people and positive things to heal ourselves and heal others.

    @Laurelanne Davis, It is a touching story and one I see repeated in energy terms so many times. However I also feel we shouldn’t get too worried about it and allow it’s own negativity to grow. We can take comfort from the fact that we can definitely do something about it and that realisation in itself can be very releasing and empowering. If maintain a practical and level headed approach we can deal with things so much more effectively. I think it is something we should be aware of and understand how to address it, then get on with the business of living the best life we can – as a beautiful spirit in a human body.

    What a beautiful story, and so true, a wonderful example of how one can be truamatised by misperceptions of the actions of other people. I feel that we all at some point in our lives have experienced this to a greater or lesser degree. I know people who have seriously hindered their personal growth on mental and emotional levels, which have also impacted on their physical body, by holding on to past hurts… (myself included)…having done the work…i know how liberating it feels and yes it does bring changes and it can be scary… but it leaves more space for better to come in if you allow it. I bless every crappy thing that ever happened to me because it made me want better for myself and my life, i wouldn’t be the person i am today without it. Having said that, it is an ongoing process as situations crop up from time to time… such as life is:) Love and Light xxx
